What are the minimum system requirements for Red Hat Virtual Experience?

To ensure that your virtual experience is a positive one, please ensure that your system is configured to at least the following:

  • OS: Linux distribution with a kernel of 2.4+ or Microsoft Windows 2000 / Microsoft Windows XP / Vista / Windows 7
  • Browser: Mozilla Firefox 2 (or higher), Safari 4, Opera 9, or Microsoft Internet Explorer 7(or higher)
  • Java Runtime Environment 1.5 (or higher; please ensure your firewall permits applets)
  • Flash Player 9 (or higher)
  • Speakers

Please note that the Virtual Summit interfaces are designed to be best viewed using a display resolution of 1024x768 or greater.

How do I install the Flash Player plugin?

For all Web browsers:

  • Download the Flash Player plugin from Adobe
  • Once the download is completed, click on 'Open' in the download dialog; you may be prompted to ensure that you want to execute this program
  • When the installation completes, your Web browswer will open on the Adobe homepage displaying an active Flash movie
